Since 2017, I have been collecting vintage electronics, writing about them, and producing videos. My collection now includes more than 100 pieces. I have built an audience of over 20,000 followers and have collaborated with the tech creator HTX Studio, whose channel reaches more than 10 million followers. In 2022, I co-founded the UIUC Retrocomputing Club with Prof. Zuofu Cheng and served as its founding president. We exhibited at VCF Midwest in 2024 and 2025.
I study datacenters, and I also enjoy running a small one at home. I have maintained a homelab since 2019 and upgrade it through four generations across two countries. It provides file storage, media streaming, photo, office, and web services. My current setup centers on a Synology NAS and a Minisforum MS-02 Ultra, with this website hosted on the latter.
I enjoy filming driving POV videos as a form of visual road journaling. I mainly document the expressway network in my home province of Shanxi, China. So far, I have captured several terabytes of footage, edited and published the videos online, and built an audience of more than 4,000 followers.
